Here & Now - Packages/Clips

Clips - Short pieces of b-roll, or brief sound bites do not require master file exports, and can just be sent for studio playback via MXF Direct.

Packages - When exporting content to be used in an episode of Here & Now, we’d like to have archived master files of complete packages (interviews, etc. and other, more “fully-fleshed” pieces, generally at least a few minutes in length).

For complete packages, you can use a single export for both studio playback (via MXF Direct) and archive (via Production Master) by first sending through MXF Direct, then grabbing/re-naming the file from the “Done” folder, and sending it to Production Master.

Package master files must meet all master standard specs, and be named as shown here when sent through Production Master:

Creating Master Files

Clips do not have to start at a specific timecode, or contain a specific amount of heads/tails (slate or added black padding).

Files sent through MXF Direct are typically named ContentName_Show#### (e.g. ProtestBroll_2049)
