Edited + Live Captioned Programs
This workflow is intended to deliver the content to the video servers for live playback, while preserving the quality of the edited master. This avoids the generational loss that would occur if the Record Engineer created the PMR master.
Editor
Export a master file for archive to xcode_dropbox\_ProductionMaster\(subfolder based on content), using just the Media ID as your filename.
Using Digital Dub, request an OC MXF and Media Manager MP4 file.
In a second/separate Digital Dub request, select "Studio" and add "_NoCC" (after the Media ID) to the Custom output filename field:
(We put the “Studio” dub in a second request to prevent the custom name from being applied to the Media Manager dub)
Record Engineer
First - you will use the “_NoCC” file sent by the Editor (see above) as your source when feeding/playing out for the live caption roll. You’ll record on SpectrumX and Cinedeck, just like Here and Now (though you’ll be using one SpectrumX VT for playback and another for recording). For this workflow, there should already exist a master file (without captions) in the PMR, so you need only export the captions.
NOTE: You do not need to send any of the SpectrumX files to BMR (Archive)
Follow the normal steps to import and set IN/OUT points on the captioned record file, again, like Here and Now - steps 1-17 here. You can stop after step 17, when the SCC caption file is exported.
